
Danielle Maco
Associate, Teacher Support, Instructional Technology and Artificial Intelligence

Danielle is the newest member to the BreakFree Team. Her work focuses on supporting teachers through engaging curriculum, professional development and purposeful technology integration. Prior to joining BreakFree, Danielle spent ten years with the Collaborative for Educational Services- Department of Youth Services in Massachusetts. As a math and science teacher in juvenile justice classrooms for seven years, she brought joy, rigor and creativity to her lessons, often championing BreakFree’s initiatives. In her final three years there, she served as an instructional technology coach where she built relationships with teachers and fostered innovation through 3D printing and AI literacy in JJ settings. Her work was recognized with a DYS Commissioner’s Award (2019) and CES’ Living our Guiding Principles Award (2021).
Danielle holds a Master’s degree in Teaching and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Neuroscience both from Smith College. Originally from the Philippines and raised in Southern California, Danielle immigrated to the United States at age ten. She comes from a family of educators and remains committed to a life of service through education.
Danielle currently lives in Holyoke, Massachusetts with her husband. Her camera is always full of their travel and food adventures. Soon, they’ll return to Southern California to be closer to her mom–her best friend and inspiration. Danielle is excited and grateful to be part of BreakFree, where she can continue her commitment to educational equity alongside a passionate team.
