Our Daily Lessons packets were first created in the spring of 2020 as an emergency response to COVID-19, when students in juvenile justice facilities were left without consistent access to instruction. Now revised, these materials are designed to provide engaging, meaningful academic opportunities.

What’s Inside
Each packet includes activities in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, as well as enrichment tasks that support:
-
Social and emotional learning
-
Creative expression and art
-
Problem-solving
The lessons are organized around weekly themes, designed to help students make connections between academic content and real-world ideas. Current themes include:
-
Identity Week – exploring questions of self, belonging, and personal expression.
-
Power Week – examining structures of power, influence, and agency.

How to Use the Daily Lessons
-
Flexible Applications: The lessons can be printed and distributed directly to students, or used as supplemental resources for coursework, short-term placements, new arrivals, or substitute coverage.
-
Teacher Engagement Matters: While the packets stand on their own, they are not intended to replace direct instruction. We encourage facilitators and teachers to use the lessons as a springboard for active teaching, discussion, and connection.
